Celebrating Martin Luther King Day

Celebrating Martin Luther King Day

Date: January 6, 2017
Type: AFA Article

On Monday, January 16 this nation will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Held each year on the third Monday of January, we celebrate the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., an influential American civil rights leader on this federal holiday.

This day provides us with the opportunity to reflect on how far we have come as well as on how far we have yet to go. We can accomplish anything when standing together. AFA honors Dr. King every day by promoting our collective bargaining rights and demanding equality for all regardless of race, color, age, sexual orientation, and gender.
