Recently Flight Attendants have been inquiring on where to find information on U.S. Customs procedures on bringing certain food items into the U.S.
The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) has stringent guidelines on bringing some items into the United States (e.g., dairy, fruit, etc.). Please make yourself familiar with approved and restricted items enforced by U.S. Customs when entering the U.S. It is equally important to make yourself aware of approved or restricted items while traveling to other countries. Keep in mind that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reserves the right to inspect your bags upon arrival into the U.S. to ensure that any prohibited items / agricultural items you may be carrying are allowed under USDA regulations. For additional information please see your base supervisor.
